ER is an American medical drama television series about the inner life of the doctors and nurses of fictional County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. The seventh season of ER opens with Carter (Noah Wyle) completing his drug rehabilitation with the support of Abby (Maura Tierney), whose own life is in disarray after she is forced to drop out of medical school.
